Societe Generale and the International Finance Corporation (IFC) have signed a Collaboration Framework Agreement to accelerate sustainable finance in developing countries, with the aim of contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The agreement will focus on financing solutions that support the climate transition, facilitate access to clean energy and infrastructure, foster sustainable agribusiness, and empower women entrepreneurs in small and medium-sized enterprises. Societe Generale and IFC will also share methodologies and frameworks for measuring and monitoring impact. The partnership builds on a longstanding relationship between the two institutions, which have co-financed approximately 60 transactions with other partners over the past decade. Societe Generale will bring its expertise in structured finance and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) standards, while IFC will leverage its experience as the largest global development institution focused on the private sector in developing countries.
