Citi has lost its EMEA head of debt financing, Louise Francis, in one of a pair of senior departures. She had been with the bank for over 10 years and has reportedly left to pursue other opportunities. Francis was responsible for overseeing Citi’s debt financing business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, and her departure comes at a time when the bank is trying to expand its presence in the region. Citi’s debt financing business has been performing well, with the bank ranking among the top underwriters of global corporate debt in 2023. This loss of a key executive could potentially impact the bank’s ability to continue its growth in this area.
